Wake Up, Buttercup!

I'm not gonna lie, I have had many mornings wishing I hadn't consumed 24 a few cocktails on a work night. I'm usually waking up praying there is a snow storm, hail storm- actually ANY type of storm for work to be cancelled. That never happens. Ever.

So, I have to get up and use my secret tool to give me a glowing look that makes my eyes look like I've had more than a few hours of sleep.

Trust me, it works! Even if I had 10 hours of sleep, I still use it. It creates a dewy look and immediately brightens your whole face.

Please let me introduce to you...

Givenchy Mister Light $33
This item will always be found in my makeup bag. It's even great for covering blemishes!
How to use it? After foundation and powder are set, swipe the pen below each eye and blot with your finger to blend in.

ALSO...

I recently started using Mister Bright.
It's great to mix the Light with the Bright to create an iridescent glow under your eyes. You can also use alone on your cheek bones and above your eyebrow arches as a highlighter.
It's amazing.

You're welcome.

Lady in Red

Okay, okay... I know in a previous post I mentioned that I can't sport red bold lips. Well turns out, I was wrong!
I have found the most GORGEOUS red from NARS. It can work for most skin tones since it's such a rich red and can be layered.
Turns out, it's the same red lipstick Ann Hathaway wore in her role as Catwoman. Never saw it, but Anne Hathaway is amazing so I thought I'd try it out!

Lipstick: NARS Trans Siberian $24
It's a semi matte finish. You can go mod or vintage glam with this color.
REMEMBER: If you do a red lip, skip the blush and opt for a matte bronzer instead. Also, keep the eyes simple. Think of it as not wearing a chunky necklace with chandelier earrings. Big no, no.

Lip Pencil: NARS Jungle Red $22
Two words: It's amazing. I always try to go a little lighter on the liner, it creates a more plump lip.
When doing a bold lipstick, I always recommend a liner, especially if it can stain the skin around your mouth. No one wants a Sangria mouth!

Go to a NARS beauty counter or Sephora and try it out -
I've learned the fun you can have with a trendy bold lip!

Enjoy!

Serious Time

Okay, so I probably shouldn't be on my blog after 10 a few glasses of wine. BUT I want to tell you all that I am going to be real with you! What I mean by that is-- I will never recommend anything that I haven't used at least 5 times before writing a review. AND I will tell you if I hate it! If I do end up hating it- my girlfriends have agreed to try everything that doesn't work for me.

A little about myself:
Olive skin
Thick wavy hair
Native American
Brown eyes

If those aren't you... have no fear! I am sharing and giving away products that may not work for me and may be amazing for them!

I will share their feedback!

Let's all cheers (I'll raise my Smart Water) to being a girl and enjoy some us time!

Lashes To Die For

Here is my eyelash extension story: I woke up one Saturday morning super excited to have luscious lashes like Kim K. Well, it was probably the worst 2 hours of my life. Not only did I NOT know it took 2 hours, but during the time your eyes are taped up like you're undergoing LASIK surgery-- they're painting burning glue on each lash one by one.
I will never condone eyelash extensions. Ever.
P.S- I'm pretty sure my natural lashes are damaged. And I've only gone once!

Sorry for the rant!

Here are a few much easier and painless tips to get gorgeous lashes.

Step 1. Get a good eyelash curler like this one:

The reason I say get a good one, is because if you get one not so great it can actually cut your lashes or even rip them out. Gross. Make sure the top curler is pressing on the rubber piece on the bottom before each use.
Shiseido Eyelash Curler ($19, can be found at select Sephora stores or online.)

Step 2. My favorite mascara of ALL TIME :

This mascara is the bomb.com! Yep, I said it. The comb is awesome, it catches every eyelash and you literally don't need to put anymore than 1-2 swipes. Talk about fast! The texture is creamy and won't flake off. Online it says to pair with their Maximizer Mascara, but honestly try it alone first.
Dior New Look Mascara ($28.50 and can be found at specialty department stores and Sephora.)

Here is another mascara that I really like and it's pretty similar:

See, I'm not just a label whore buyer. One of my girlfriends uses this, and it makes her eyelashes look amazing! I've used this several times and it reminds me a lot of the Dior (minus $18).
L'Oreal Telescopic ($10 and can be found at Walgrees and CVS Stores.)

Step 3. Even though some nights are a blackout, be sure to take off all your makeup! This includes your eyes. I don't go expensive on this, because A.) It's all the same and B.) it would cost a fortune to keep this in stock. I usually go with this because it's easy and travel friendly. You will be amazed to see that just by being diligent about removing your eye makeup - how much longer your eyelashes will look!
This is from Neutrogena and maybe costs about $10 and can be found at CVS, Walgreens and Target.

Love your Lashes!

I. Love. Fall.

Today is the first day in Houston that actually feels like fall. So, I wanted to share with you my top 5 favorite things for this time of the year... Enjoy!

1. Tights, especially Kate Spades Gigantic Swiss Dot Tights. Trust me, they're amazing! ($32, click here to check them out.)

2.  Dark Nails.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Vertigo is possibly the best nail color I own.
It's great because it's not the typical black nail. You will find purple shimmer in this deep grey color. You'll feel like a rock star with these nails!
($26 and can be found here or at your local Nordstrom beauty counter.)

3. My new Z Gallerie Chinchilla Throw. Fall is the best time to snuggle, once you relax with this wrapped around you - you'll never want to get up! ($149.95 and can be found here or at Z Gallerie stores.)
4. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte- #Yum.

Yes. I get the whipped cream.

5. Last but not least - Boots, of all kinds. Here are two of my favorites.

Tory Burch Amanda Riding Boot - $495

Now I must go back to my vino and Chinchilla Throw.

Obsessed.

I've been obsessing over this Stella & Dot necklace! I figured I'd share it with ya'll!
This beauty is named Pegasus and is $198... Totally worth it because I consider this a staple and it goes with virtually anything! It has been worn by Kim & Kourtney Kardashion and Kathy Lee (wino) Gilfford... Oh, and me.
Wear it now with a long sleeve or cozy sweater and wear it later with a tank!

Get it while it's still available or add it to your Christmas list :) Click here to check it out!

Happy shopping!

Pretty Lips

Yves Saint Laurent has done it again! Their new lip colors are amazing!
I recently snagged their Glossy Stain in Rose Pastelle #18 and their Sheer Candy Glossy Balm called Tangy Mandarine #10. When I put them together I fell in love!

How to use: put the lip stain on first, let it sit for about 30 seconds. Next, use a lip brush (or don't) and go over the stain with the glossy balm. To dramatize your look do a smokey eye and use a bronzer on your cheeks.
Go to your nearest Sephora or Neiman Marcus to check them out!

Pucker up ladies!

Get it.

So, I went to Sephora today (shocker!) and fell in love with this little brush:

It's from the Sephora Collection and it is called the Pro Fan Brush #65
I use this for is my bronzer... normally you'd think to use a full powder brush BUT when using this you can apply the bronzer on your cheeks and forehead and creates a flawless glow. You can use liquids on this like tinted moisturizer but try not to use anything heavier on it.

My #1 golden rude- DO NOT use one brush for different things. For instance, if you use this for bonzer, only use it for bronzer. Don't double dip it in your blush because it will alter your blush color and wont show the definition you get with layering.

I know brushes are a tad expensive, but look at them as an investment. I have MAC brushes from 4 years ago that are still in great condition. Just be sure to clean them properly and DON'T double dip! :)

Click here for more info and to find your nearest Sephora!

Just so you know I didn't just go to Sephora and buy only 1 thing... I bought several (Sorry Ryan). Check back this week and see what new AMAZING products I found!

Manic Monday

I like to call my Monday's "Manic Monday".
Because I'm normally:

A.) Sleepy

B.) Wishing it were Sunday Funday again
& C.) Realizing I HAVE to wash my hair.

I can help A. by drinking a Zenify and I really can't help B. So I bring to you my next blog post which refers to C. on my list of Monday blues.

WASHING HAIR! I absolutely HATE to wash my hair, it takes FOREVER!  I can usually go about 3 days without washing and normally if I curl my hair when it's freshly cleaned, as it gets dirtier the better it looks! You can accomplish that by using products that don't weigh your hair down and cause build up.

I'm not going to lie, I usually don't buy the same products twice so what I'm recommending to you means - it's the best thing since sliced bread... well, fat-free sliced bread!

Shampoo & Conditioner:

L'anza - Healing ColorCare

Let me just start off by saying, "I CANT WAIT for my newly purchased S&C to run out so I can go back and buy this product!". It smells like fruity pebbles and lathers up SOOO well!
How I normally use it is I wash my hair with the shampoo really well, rinse, then repeat the shampoo and let the lather sit on my hair for a good minute. Only use the conditioner once in the shower and let it sit for a few minutes. It leaves your hair silky smooth with a fresh feeling. I highly recomend the ColorCare line, but if you're needing to target something else chances are they have it.
Check out their website to find a salon in your neighborhood that carries their line of products.

Root Lifer:

Brocato - Rootfix
I can't style my hair without this! Most root lifters cause grease and build up, but this baby works like a charm! Spray it on your roots while hair is wet to create amazing volume.
Click on the link above and find a salon near you.

Heat Protectant

Moroccan Oil - Treatment

I am obsessed with this product! It does absolutely everything it says it'll do & then some! I use a pump of the oil and put it on my wet ends before blow drying. It helps protect your lovely locks from the damaging heat and also nourishes your hair leaving it silky smooth. I also sometimes use this as a finishing product. PLEASE note you do not need to submerge your hair in it, you WILL become a greasy mess! Only a little goes a long way.

These are the items I use when primping my hair. I hope you learned a thing or two and are ready to bring on the week!

Happy Monday's!

Friday Round Up

FIRST blog post!
I wanted to start it off with this weeks beauty obsessions and new buys.

1. NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Pop Life
What I love about this is the pencil's color goes on buttery smooth but has a matte finish (which I'm very into right now). It stays on pretty well, not the best but  is so worth it. You can layer to make it as bright or subtle as you would like. I bought it in Pop Life because it's not a true red, this season is all about the bold bright red lips... I, myself can't sport the red so I opted for this.
This little disco stick (GaGa) of sunshine costs $24 and is in a ton of different colors.
Can be purchased at Sephora or Nordstrom.

2. TOO Faced - Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Black

I'm not going to lie- I am not a fan of waterproof makeup, normally I find it dull and flaky. BUT this changed my whole point of view! This eyeliner is AMAZING I can not express to you how easily it glides on and the color it gives and does not fade! I was shocked! Go and BUY it! The best $18 you'll ever spend!
Can be purchased at Sephora or ULTA Beauty Stores.

3. Nars - Optimal Brightening Concentrate

This little guy is amazing! The price tag is a tad steep, but if you're like me and don't wake up all bright eyed and bushy tailed.. then this is for you. There are little specks of shimmer that help make your skin look more awake and youthful. Its reminds me more of a serum which is great if you suffer from dry skin.
It's $72 and can be purchased at Saks or Nordstroms.

LAST but not least!

4. Milly - iPhone Case

LOVE my new Milly iPhone case! Received tons of compliments and she has several great designs.
If you would like to pick one up go to Nordstoms or Bloomingdales.

Hope you guys loved my new finds!
Have a great weekend!
